I Can Feel The Heat by Elle Pervez - I wanted to convey the burning feel of the sun as she rises above the desert landscape, and the way the earth bakes under her gaze. I have only added one tree into this artwork, to give the feel of solitude and the way your mind turns inwards under the consuming heat of the sun. Though only one tree, she is surrounded by a glitter of gold reminiscent of the sun reflecting off the desert sands. The land herself is inspired by the stunning horizons of outback Australia and how I feel when I am there.
This work forms part of Metamorphosis, a series examining silence, space, and transformation. Moving between desert terrains and abstraction, the collection mirrors the internal journey from containment to emergence.
